VoltShare Secures Six-Figure Investment from Canadian Investor, Sets Sights on North America with Backing from MoITT, Ignite, and NIC Lahore

July 28, 2025

Lahore, Pakistan – July 12, 2025 – Voltshare , a cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) charging startup co-founded by Umair Atta, Mahin Fatima & Adnan Shameem has raised an undisclosed six-figure investment from a Canadian investor as it prepares to expand operations across North America. The investment follows VoltShare’s selection for Canada’s prestigious Startup Visa Program, through which the Co-founders has now secured Permanent Resident status — a major milestone on the road to global scale.

VoltShare’s innovative approach — often described as the “Airbnb for EV charging” — enables individuals and businesses to share their EV chargers via a connected digital platform. By unlocking private infrastructure for public use, the company is solving a critical pain point in EV adoption while creating a more flexible, decentralized charging ecosystem.

Co-Founder Umair Ata has played an active role in Pakistan’s evolving tech startup ecosystem — supported by Ministry of IT and Telecom Pakistan, Tech Destination Pakistan and Ignite - National Technology Fund. Since 2016, he has built and scaled multiple ventures, including Freightix, which digitized Pakistan’s trucking sector, the country’s first on-demand fuel delivery platform, and ShiftKaro, a leading packers and movers service. Voltshare builds on this experience, combining local insight with a global vision for clean and connected mobility.

“We’re incredibly proud to be taking this leap — not just as a company, but as a representation of Pakistan’s growing potential in climate tech innovation,” said Umair Ata, Founder & CEO of VoltShare. “With the support of Ministry of IT and Telecom Pakistan , Tech Destination Pakistan , Ignite - National Technology Fund , and National Incubation Center Lahore - NIC Lahore , we’ve gone from a local startup to an international venture aiming to reshape the future of EV charging.”

With this latest investment — raised at a multimillion-dollar valuation — VoltShare will focus on launching its platform in Canada and the U.S., onboarding hosts and users, and forging strategic partnerships in the clean mobility ecosystem.
